I Am Truly Thankful!

While not close to my usual blog exactly follow me on this one, please. It may be a bit long, but I hope you get something out of it! To be Thankful.

It’s 4:00 am and I was woken up an hour ago by a thought that wouldn’t let me go back to sleep! That thought is how thankful I am for so many things in my life. And being asked to write this blog is one of those things.

There are the “obvious” things I am thankful for, my family (even when they may make me crazy), friends (who we may not always agree on everything) and having good health (maybe not everyday but more often than not). These are not things to take for granted as we all know and see people who may not have all these things in life.

But here are some things you might not realize to be thankful for that I am. I’m so lucky that each day I get to wake up and do something that makes me thankful and happy to do, my “job”! You see I have a choice like we all do, to do what I want to do, not have to do. I could have chosen a different path but I am thankful I chose the path I did, and very thankful to have ended up where I am now!

To start with I am thankful that about a year ago I got a call from Jatin one of the owners of Nuvollo, who was willing to make the call and meet me, granted it was during a pandemic and we only got to meet on a phone call. But that phone call lead to me getting the chance to work with an amazing group of people. And for that I am thankful! The team at Nuvollo are awesome and I am lucky to be part of that.

I am thankful that I get to do what I believe is help people, not just make a sale or make money, but actually help people. My credo in life is “THERE ARE NO PROBLEMS, JUST SOLUTIONS LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO HAPPEN!”, and that’s what I get to do everyday, all day. And I work with a great team that does that exact same thing. We try to find the solutions to what are or could become your problem and fix them or prevent them.

I am thankful that I get to meet and have great interactions with so many diverse personalities, whether it’s the head of IT, the owner of the company, or a group of people involved in making a decision on what is the best solution for what they need, even if they didn’t realize it until we got into it. But most of all its amazing to meet so many different people and share some time with them.

I try to get to know these people who’s path I cross on more than just a business level. I try to get to know the person and listen to them and hear where they may have a pain point, and try to solve it, more often than not I am thankful that we get off track and start chatting about life for a bit. It’s amazing how much I get to learn about them and learn new things in life. What a great thing to be thankful for in a job. Too many people rush through their day and don’t take that extra minute to get to know that person on the other end of the line or even next to them, and more so share a smile or a laugh.

I am most thankful that whether or not these people I meet become a customer or not we have more likely shared some great conversation, we have shared a few laughs hopefully and most important I am thankful that I can usually be somewhat helpful to them. I always try to leave the door opened for a future conversation, even if it’s not for business. I want them to know my door is always opened if the have a question, or need help finding a solution.

In my line of work I am usually trying to help protect a company and all the people that work there stay protected. In my world I see the not so pretty side of the tech world these days, with cybercrime on the rise day over day, I do my best to offer a solution to people to help put them into a safer place, and if they have a problem, solve it! I am thankful for that. If I’m successful it could mean a lot of people get to keep working and doing what they need to do, or get them back to work fast.

I am really and truly thankful that I am working with one of the best companies and teams to be able to help others, is it all altruistic, no, I need to make a “sale”, but it’s not for something that is not useful, but for something that will make a difference in a lot of peoples lives. I may not be a doctor or first responder saving lives, but I am certainly trying to help save people from disasters! And that is something to be thankful for, I get to make a difference in this world, not just make a buck, and there is nothing more satisfying.

And that is what I am thankful for! So thanks to all of you who let me try to find a way to help you, thanks for the great conversations, thanks for sharing your time, and hopefully we get to share some laughs. Thanks for making me thankful for having a purpose to wake up and do what I do!

Not all of you will become a customer but you will be someone who has crossed my path and shared yourself in some way with me, and for that I’m thankful!
